Executive Chef

About the role

Accor is looking for a visionary and passionate Executive Chef to lead its culinary operations in Baghdad, Iraq. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee all food and beverage operations, driving culinary excellence, innovation and profitability while delivering exceptional dining experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role combining creative vision with operational expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee culinary operations across multiple dining venues, private events and special experiences, ensuring consistency and excellence.
• Develop and execute destination-inspired menus that celebrate local ingredients and cultural authenticity while remaining commercially viable.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety across kitchens and dining.
• Manage food costs, inventory, purchasing and supplier relationships to optimise profitability.
• Recruit, train, mentor and develop culinary talent, and run coaching and training programmes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and HACCP standards.
• Work with Food and Beverage, Operations and Commercial teams, monitor guest feedback and support sustainability through responsible sourcing and waste reduction.

Required profile

• Minimum 4-5 years of progressive culinary leadership experience in luxury hotels, resorts or high-end restaurants.
• Proven experience as an Executive Chef or senior culinary leader overseeing multiple dining concepts.
• Strong financial acumen managing food costs, labour costs, budgets and operational performance.
• Proven success in training, coaching and developing culinary staff.

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations and kitchen compliance.
• Proficiency with kitchen management systems, equipment operation and culinary technology.
• Strong communication, organisational and time-management skills.
