English Language Instructor

About the role

The English Language Instructor will deliver high‑quality English instruction to adult learners in support of Amideast Iraq’s language programs, both in‑person and online.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum goals and student needs.
• Prepare lesson plans, course logs, supplemental materials, and maintain accurate attendance and progress records.
• Assess student work, provide timely feedback, and correct assignments such as homework, exams, and quizzes.
• Submit required reports, materials, and updates to the EL Manager or supervisor on schedule.
• Participate in teacher orientation, training, professional development, and program planning sessions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, TESOL, TEFL, Applied Linguistics or related field.
• TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, DELTA, PCELT or equivalent teaching certification.
• Demonstrated experience teaching English to adult or diverse learner groups.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work professionally in a multicultural environment and adapt to program changes.

Required skills

• English language teaching methodology and curriculum development.
• Lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment.
• Use of learning management systems and virtual classroom platforms for online/blended delivery.
• Preparation of instructional materials and maintenance of attendance/progress records.
