Emergency Room Nurse Health Field Officer

About the role

The Emergency Room Nurse Health Field Officer strengthens Emergency Department operations in humanitarian settings. You will enhance triage, infection prevention and control, patient flow and documentation while building staff capacity through training and bedside mentoring.

Key responsibilities

• Support functional Emergency Departments by improving triage, IPC and patient flow.
• Provide on‑site training, bedside mentoring and capacity‑building for local health staff.
• Coordinate mass‑casualty response activities and ensure seamless integration with pre‑hospital emergency care.
• Maintain accurate documentation, referrals and reporting to national and international partners.
• Collaborate with internal health teams, logistics, protection units and external stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health, WHO and NGOs.

Required profile

• Professional nursing qualification with experience in emergency or acute care.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex, resource‑limited environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to train and mentor diverse staff.
• Commitment to humanitarian principles and the ICRC values of impact, collaboration, respect and compassion.
