E&I Engineer – Commissioning Specialist

About the role

The E&I Engineer will lead start‑up and commissioning activities for industrial plants, ensuring equipment and systems are correctly installed, inspected, and operated under temporary start‑up conditions. This role works closely with clients on‑site and provides technical guidance to design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform equipment and system checkout, inspection, and verification of proper installation.
• Review designs, calculate expected operating parameters, and assess temporary start‑up conditions.
• Coordinate start‑up operations, including flushing, chemical cleaning, and initial equipment operation.
• Lead performance testing, calculate test results and heat balances, and document findings.
• Conduct engineering calculations for design changes and prepare detailed engineering reports.
• Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
• Develop new approaches to resolve complex engineering challenges.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in plant start‑up, commissioning, or related engineering roles.
• Proven ability to evaluate, select, and adapt engineering techniques and procedures.
• Strong judgment and independent decision‑making skills.
• Experience working on‑site with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
