Education Officer (NO-2) – Fixed Term – Basrah, Iraq

About the role

The Education Officer will support UNICEF’s education programmes in Iraq, from planning through delivery and reporting. Working under the Chief Field Office, the officer provides technical, operational and administrative assistance to ensure programme objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and planning of education projects within the country programme.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring progress and ensuring timely delivery of results.
• Provide technical support for programme activities, including data management and knowledge sharing.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovation, capacity‑building initiatives and knowledge management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in education programme management, humanitarian assistance or related areas.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Experience in education programme planning and implementation.
• Knowledge of programme monitoring and evaluation.
• Ability to develop partnerships and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Understanding of disaster risk reduction and knowledge management in education contexts.
