Education Officer (NO-2) – Fixed-Term – Basrah, Iraq

About the role

Under the supervision of the Chief Field Office, the Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance for education programmes in Iraq. The role covers the full programme cycle from development planning to delivery, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development and planning, including needs assessments and work‑plan preparation.
• Manage programme implementation, monitor progress and ensure delivery of results.
• Provide technical and operational support to field teams for effective programme execution.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs, donors and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Education, Psychology, Sociology or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in education programme management, humanitarian assistance, education governance, early childhood education, access to education, data management, non‑formal education or learning‑outcome improvement.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; open to Iraqi nationals only.
