Digital Learning & Instructional Design Manager

About the role

KBR's Training & Development department is hiring an expatriate Digital Learning & Instructional Design Manager in Basra, reporting to the Training Manager. The role designs, develops, coordinates and manages digital learning solutions covering technical, operational, HSE, leadership and competency development, combining instructional design with Online Learning Platform (LMS) administration so that content fits oil & gas operations and the company's competency frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze training needs from TNA, competency gaps, IDPs and CMS requirements
• Design and build e-learning, microlearning, blended and digital training programmes, including converting classroom material into online modules
• Create learning objectives, storyboards, scripts, assessments, quizzes, simulations and interactive activities
• Develop learning pathways for technical, operational, HSE, leadership and professional development programmes
• Work with SMEs to ensure technical accuracy and review existing digital courses against changes in procedures, standards and technology
• Incorporate multimedia such as video, animation, graphics, voice-over and interactive scenarios

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in instructional or educational design highly desirable; teaching or training background beneficial
• Proven experience in instructional design and instructional technology, minimum 5 years as a T&D professional or advisor, possibly with trainer/coaching experience
• T&D experience in oil & gas or energy highly desirable
• Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models, and ability to plan lessons and curricula
• Advanced English

• Course development software and at least one LMS
• Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate (advanced)
• Photoshop and Illustrator, and ability to storyboard
• Writing of copy, instructional text and audio/video scripts
• Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint
