English Second Language Coordinator

About the role

The English Coordinator supports the quality and consistency of English-language teaching across the school, ensuring that English learning activities are age-appropriate, engaging and aligned with the school's educational approach and academic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the English curriculum and learning plans across the relevant grade levels.
• Support teachers in preparing lesson plans, learning activities and educational materials.
• Monitor teaching quality through classroom observations and regular follow-up, and provide coaching, feedback and academic support to English teachers and assistant teachers.
• Assess students' English progress and identify areas needing additional support.
• Ensure consistency in teaching methods, learning outcomes and assessment standards.
• Organize English-language activities, projects, reading sessions and school events.
• Support the recruitment, induction and evaluation of English teachers when required.
• Communicate academic progress and learning concerns to school management and prepare simple reports on teaching quality, student progress and improvement actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, English Literature or a related field.
• Teaching qualification or relevant professional certification preferred.
• At least three years of experience teaching English.
• Previous experience as a coordinator, senior teacher or team leader preferred.
• Experience working with children in a school or educational environment.

Required skills

• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Good communication, organization and leadership skills.
• Ability to coach teachers and give constructive feedback.
