About the role
Wood is seeking an experienced Control Room Operator to join its Iraq Business Unit, focusing on real‑time monitoring of a solar plant in Basra. This full‑time, on‑site role involves using advanced control systems to ensure optimal plant performance and compliance with grid regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor solar plant performance in real time via SCADA and inverter smart‑IV‑curve monitoring systems.
- Check and respond to system alarms, warnings, and faults, identifying trends or anomalies.
- Diagnose issues remotely and coordinate escalation to field teams when necessary.
- Log incidents and maintenance activities, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
- Ensure plant operations comply with Grid Operator regulations and internal standards.
Required profile
- Proven experience operating a control room in an energy or industrial setting.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and coordination with field teams.
- Willingness to work on‑site in Basra with occasional travel requirements.
