Commercial Director – Sales

About the role

The Commercial Director (Sales) will lead the sales function for a well‑established multinational gas company operating in ten countries. Based in North Iraq (Sulaymania, Kurdistan), the role focuses on growing revenue, securing strategic opportunities and meeting sales targets across the assigned region.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed revenue, profit margin and operating profit targets.
• Develop and implement SMART sales and marketing strategies, including retention and growth plans.
• Maintain and expand relationships with key customers, creating documented account plans.
• Validate invoices, ensure timely collections and manage vendor registration.
• Negotiate payment terms, secure long‑term Product Service Agreements and resolve customer disputes.
• Lead, coach and develop the sales team in line with GC Leadership Strategy.
• Prepare departmental budgets and monitor sales performance through CRM and other metrics.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and identify new market opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven senior sales leadership experience, preferably in the energy or gas sector.
• Strong track record of meeting or surpassing sales quotas.
• Excellent relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage cross‑functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience in budgeting, pricing and contract management.
