Chief Accountant – Hotel Finance

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Chief Accountant to lead the finance function within our hotel, ensuring accurate reporting and robust internal controls. The role involves preparing financial reports, overseeing month‑end processes, and supporting the finance team to deliver exceptional service to our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Verify the General Cashier’s report, income journal vouchers and review supplier invoices, including general ledger coding of expenses.
• Validate supplier payments and expense reimbursements with supporting invoices, LPOs and other documents.
• Review payroll reports and supporting documentation at month‑end.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations and monitor contract renewals.
• Post and update standard and adjustment journal vouchers each month.
• Analyze the general ledger at month‑end, comparing expenses and variances against the budget.
• Ensure all accounting reports are completed on time and meet internal deadlines.

Required profile

• Degree in hotel management or accounting.
• Minimum two years of accounting experience in a hotel environment.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Familiarity with hotel property management systems such as Opera, Micros, FBM or SUN System is an asset.
