Aviation Machinist – Maintenance (Erbil, Iraq)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Machinist to join our maintenance team in Erbil, Iraq. The successful candidate will fabricate, repair, and modify aircraft components according to technical directives and work orders, ensuring all parts meet original specification requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret written instructions, drawings and technical specifications.
• Plan, lay out, and set up standard machine tools for fabrication work.
• Operate a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Shape metal parts to close tolerances and perform shop calculations for dimensions, tooling, feeds and speeds.
• Fit and assemble components into mechanical equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment and adhere to PPE requirements.
• Perform additional qualified duties as requested.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; U.S. military technical school or specialized training preferred.
• At least four years of recent machinist experience (repair, modification, maintenance, overhaul).
• Valid U.S. passport (2‑year validity, 6 blank pages) and ability to travel internationally.
• Eligibility for U.S. Public Trust NAC‑I clearance and ability to obtain an Iraq visa.
• Ability to meet CENTCOM MOD physical requirements and pass respirator fit testing.
• Physical capability to stand, climb, lift ≥50 lb and work in noisy, dusty shop conditions.
