AML/CFT Outward Remittances Senior Officer

About the role

The Region Trade Bank for Investment is expanding its AML team and seeks an experienced AML/CFT Outward Remittances Senior Officer. The role focuses on reviewing, processing and monitoring outward international remittances while ensuring strict compliance with the Central Bank of Iraq, AML/CFT regulations and international sanctions.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify and execute outward international remittances in line with internal procedures, CBI regulations and sanctions requirements.
• Conduct AML & compliance checks on each transaction, escalating suspicious activity to the MLRO.
• Validate customer files and trade documents (commercial invoices, certificates of origin, packing lists, import paperwork) for completeness and authenticity.
• Maintain accurate records, audit trails and prepare operational and compliance reports for management.
• Interact with correspondent banks, handle payment‑related investigations and respond to inquiries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience processing outward international remittances in a banking environment.
• Professional AML/CFT certification such as CAMS is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Central Bank of Iraq regulations governing international payments.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SWIFT payment messaging standards.
• Experience using EY/K2 or similar onboarding and processing platforms.
• Solid understanding of banking payment processing systems and outward remittance operations.
• Ability to identify and report unusual or suspicious transactions.
