Aircraft Mechanic – Egress (Level II)

About the role

The Aircraft Mechanic II – Egress is responsible for performing organizational, intermediate and limited depot‑level maintenance on aircraft egress systems. This includes inspection, testing, repair, modification and troubleshooting of canopies, ejection seats and related life‑support equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Remove and install canopies and ejection seats.
• Perform periodic maintenance on cockpit egress and life‑support systems, including seats, canopies, CADs, heating/cooling units.
• Inspect and operate powered and non‑powered aerospace ground equipment.
• Maintain aircraft support equipment, ensure proper documentation, and uphold FOD and hazardous‑waste control programs.
• Interpret maintenance manuals, requirement cards, schematics and technical directives to execute work.
• Install and remove cartridge‑actuated devices and service air‑conditioning, fire‑warning/extinguishing, and oxygen systems.
• Identify, treat and prevent corrosion on aircraft structures and components.
• Operate in hazardous areas, adhering to all applicable safety policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed Egress Course and FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
• Documented Navy Egress class (preferred).
• Minimum five (5) years of aircraft maintenance experience, including three (3) years on T6 aircraft.
• Proven expertise in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, manuals and special tools.
