Accounting Manager

About the role

Palm Of Babylon is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead daily accounting operations at its Baghdad office. This full‑time, on‑site position will ensure accurate financial recording and provide strategic financial insights to support the agency’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, journal entries, and month‑end closing activities.
• Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and related schedules.
• Monitor and manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and tracking.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with Iraqi accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Implement and maintain internal controls and assist with audits.
• Collaborate with management and other departments to improve financial processes and support strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Strong financial reporting and analytical abilities.
• Solid experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Experience managing fixed assets and depreciation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Knowledge of local accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit procedures.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work in a fast‑paced agency environment.
