Senior HR Business Partner

About the role

A large energy organization in Basrah is looking for an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to support a complex, operationally intensive environment. The role acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, shaping people strategies that enable safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to align HR support with operational priorities, driving organizational effectiveness and cultural change.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives, analyse survey results, track actions and follow up with stakeholders.
• Coach and advise leaders on people management, leadership effectiveness, team dynamics and workplace conduct.
• Support talent management processes including succession planning, development planning and performance management.
• Collaborate with recruitment to align hiring needs with business demands.
• Work with Learning & Development to identify capability gaps and close them.
• Assist with job evaluation, role clarity and organisational structure reviews.
• Ensure consistent and fair application of HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; postgraduate HR qualifications (e.g., CIPD) are a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of HR experience, preferably in the oil & gas sector, including HR Business Partner responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, talent management and organisational development.
• Excellent analytical ability to interpret HR and workforce data.
• Clear, confident communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and oral).
