Firefighter

About the role

The Firefighter will be stationed in Balad, Iraq, supporting V2X’s mission-critical operations. Reporting to the Firefighter Crew Chiefs, the role involves responding to a variety of emergencies, extinguishing fires, and conducting rescue activities while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to fire and emergency incidents, operate pumps, foam generators, turrets, and nozzles.
• Maintain and service fire vehicles, equipment, tools, and protective clothing.
• Conduct fire inspections, pre‑incident planning, and evidence preservation at fire scenes.
• Operate digital fire alarm receiving systems and two‑way radio communications equipment.
• Ensure all emergency equipment meets NFPA or equivalent industry standards.
• Participate in regular proficiency training, on‑the‑job training, and maintain required certifications.
• Perform administrative duties such as equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling, and documentation.

Required profile

• Ability to work safely in hazardous environments and follow EHS and QA protocols.
• Physical fitness to enter burning or contaminated structures and operate heavy equipment.
• Team‑oriented mindset with willingness to support rescue units, ladder trucks, engine companies, water tenders, or airport ARFF apparatus.
