Cards and Payment Systems Senior Associate

About the role

The National Bank of Iraq is seeking a proactive Cards & Payments Systems Senior Associate to join its IT team in Baghdad. The role focuses on supporting and maintaining banking applications that handle card issuance, payment processing, and transaction management, ensuring continuous availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support the operation of cards and payments systems and related banking applications 24/7.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to failed or pending transactions and transfers.
• Perform routine system checks, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
• Handle incidents and service requests from branches and internal departments within defined SLAs.
• Coordinate with development, infrastructure, cybersecurity teams, and external vendors.
• Participate in projects related to cards, payments, and AML systems.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Document issues and resolutions in ticketing systems such as Jira.
• Support UAT testing for system updates and new services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of professional experience, including at least one year in a similar banking or payments role.
• Familiarity with banking systems, transaction processing, and ISO 20022 standards is a plus.

Required skills

• Jira ticketing system.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 standards.
