Medical Laboratory Technician – Locum (Iraq)

About the role

International SOS is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to provide comprehensive laboratory services for Department of State, Department of Defense, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. This locum position operates on a 30‑day active and 120‑day inactive rotation, delivering accurate diagnostic testing across multiple specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Perform routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, and blood banking.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and keep the laboratory environment clean.
• Record and report test results promptly and accurately.
• Collaborate with pathologists and medical staff to interpret results.
• Participate in mass‑casualty exercises and related events.
• Complete required compliance training and certifications.

Required profile

• Qualified Medical Laboratory Technician able to work on a locum rotation (30 days active, 120 days inactive).
