Mechanical Worker – O&M Services (Basra, Iraq)

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Mechanical Worker to join its Iraq Business Unit, providing operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a PV field in Basra. This full‑time, on‑site position involves both preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the operation period.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance according to customer operating procedures, maintenance plans and HSE requirements.
• Execute corrective maintenance to resolve equipment failures while preserving warranty conditions.
• Document findings, follow work instructions and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Support travel requirements as needed for project activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within oil, gas or related industrial environments.
• Ability to work on‑site in Basra and travel when required.
• Strong understanding of HSE policies and ability to follow detailed procedures.
