Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager oversees the smooth operation of all engineering functions within a hotel, ensuring that daily processes, checklists, and safety standards are consistently applied. This role requires strong leadership to coordinate both internal teams and external contractors while maintaining high guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and guide engineering associates in daily duties.
• Conduct weekly inspections of plant rooms and report equipment issues.
• Verify accuracy of engineering logbook entries.
• Oversee hazardous work activities and enforce safety regulations.
• Monitor energy‑conservation procedures and report non‑compliance.
• Prepare monthly utility consumption reports and calibrate recording instruments.
• Ensure timely completion of maintenance requests, especially guest‑related jobs.
• Assist Materials Management with procurement of spare parts and consumables.
• Develop preventive‑maintenance schedules and guest‑room servicing procedures.
• Allocate work orders and coordinate contractor activities.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Support the Emergency Response Plan and maintain life‑safety systems.
• Monitor environmental programs and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7‑10 years of engineering experience, including 3‑5 years in a managerial role within a hotel or similar facility.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage preventive‑maintenance programs, and handle budget estimates.
