Biomedical Equipment Technician – Iraq

About the role

International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician to support healthcare operations for Department of State, Department of Defense, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The role ensures that all biomedical devices are installed, maintained, and repaired to the highest safety and performance standards, directly contributing to mission-critical medical care.

Key responsibilities

• Install new biomedical equipment and verify proper operation through routine checks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair or replace defective components.
• Calibrate medical devices to maintain accuracy and compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and regulatory compliance.
• Train healthcare staff on correct usage and care of equipment.
• Stay current with medical equipment safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Complete required organizational compliance education for Joint Commission or other regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) in clinical or field settings.
• Ability to work in austere environments and collaborate with military and medical personnel.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to travel and operate onsite in Iraq.
