Assistant Professor

About the role

The University of Baghdad is seeking a full‑time Assistant Professor to join its academic staff. This on‑site position involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting high‑quality research, and actively participating in departmental activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, prepare course materials, and assess student performance for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
• Conduct independent research, publish findings in reputable academic journals, and stay current with developments in the field.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Contribute to academic and administrative duties, including curriculum development and departmental committees.
• Represent the university at academic conferences, seminars, and workshops.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent academic qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Strong academic background with a proven record of research and publication.
• Demonstrated teaching and mentoring abilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in administrative or curriculum development roles is a plus.
• Willingness to engage in faculty initiatives and contribute to academic growth.
