Microgreens Grower / Production Operator

About the role

Gardens Of Enki, a project of Anunnaki Technological Dynamics based in Baghdad, grows high-quality microgreens using hydroponic technology and controlled-environment agriculture. It is hiring a full-time, on-site Microgreens Grower / Production Operator who takes responsibility for the hydroponic system, covering the whole production cycle from seed preparation and germination to harvesting, packing and occasional deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare seeds, reusable grow mats and grow channels for planting.
• Manage germination, planting schedules and crop movement through growing stages.
• Complete daily operational checklists and inspect crop health and quality.
• Check water tank levels, pH, electrical conductivity (EC) and water temperature, adjusting according to established procedures.
• Monitor pumps, irrigation, drainage, lighting, timers and airflow, and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Clean and maintain grow channels, mats, reservoirs, tools and production areas.
• Harvest, weigh, pack, label and prepare microgreens for dispatch.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and quality procedures.
• Record planting dates, water readings, harvest yields, crop losses and maintenance activities.
• Monitor seed, nutrient and packaging inventory; assist with order preparation and occasional deliveries.
• Coordinate production schedules with the team and report issues promptly.

Required profile

• A degree or diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Horticulture, Agronomy, Biology or a related field is preferred; candidates with relevant practical experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in microgreens, hydroponics, greenhouse production or controlled-environment agriculture is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, spot problems early and communicate clearly.
• Willingness to perform hands-on planting, cleaning, harvesting, packing and delivery duties.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, handle supplies and perform repetitive tasks safely.
• A valid driving licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• Use of, or willingness to learn, pH and EC meters and water and nutrient management procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, accurate record keeping and consistent daily checklists.
• Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe handling of nutrients and cleaning materials.

Schedule: daily, 6 days a week, generally 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexible hours depending on planting, crop care, harvesting and operations. Location is on-site in Baghdad.
