Head of Sub-Office (Erbil)

About the role

The Head of Sub‑Office (HoSO) in Erbil will serve as the International Organization for Migration’s senior representative in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Reporting to the Chief of Mission, the HoSO leads the coordination, management and operational oversight of IOM’s programmes and strategic engagement across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the coordination, management and operational oversight of all IOM activities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
• Support field coordination beyond the KRI, working with other Sub‑Office heads to ensure harmonised operational approaches and effective information flow.
• Oversee programme enabling functions including Information Management Systems, Cash‑Based Interventions, infrastructure, data‑tracking matrix/research and partnerships & localisation.
• Contribute to programme development, operational planning, donor engagement and external representation with regional authorities and United Nations partners.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in managing humanitarian or migration programmes.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and oversee operational functions.
• Experience in donor engagement and representation with regional authorities and UN agencies.
