Science Teacher

About the role

The Science Teacher will join CADMUS® International School in Al Basra to deliver the SABIS® curriculum, fostering student success and encouraging a love of science. The role involves delivering lessons, assessing student work, and supporting the school’s point‑system learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach science classes using provided lesson plans or develop plans aligned with SABIS® pacing charts.
• Mark exams and assignments according to departmental schedules.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department.
• Implement the SABIS® Point System to maintain a conducive classroom environment.
• Proctor examinations and ensure proper test conditions.
• Provide guidance and motivation to low‑performing students.
• Assist with external exam preparation and revision schedules where applicable.
• Support additional duties such as student testing, substitute teaching, lunch and bus organization, traffic control, and other administrative tasks.
• Participate in student life activities, collaborating with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions to deepen understanding of the SABIS® system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in English.
• Minimum of one year of teaching experience.
• Professional behavior, ethical conduct, and accountability.
• Commitment to continuous learning and delivering results.
