Quality Control Microbiologist

About the role

The Quality Control Microbiologist is responsible for executing microbiology laboratory operations and in‑process quality control activities at the Iraq plant. This dual coverage ensures that finished products are released safely, on time, and in full compliance with food safety and critical control point (CCP) requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing of finished products, raw materials, water, CIP/COP swabs, and environmental samples according to approved methods.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain microbiology laboratory equipment and manage consumables, reagents, and culture media.
• Record test results accurately, flag out‑of‑specification findings, and provide results to the QHSE Manager for product release decisions.
• Take line‑side product and process samples, conduct CCP swabbing, and perform line clearance checks between product changeovers.
• Execute plant environmental monitoring programs, including surface swabbing, air sampling, and hygiene verification.
• Track and report environmental monitoring data to support corrective‑action planning.
