About the role

The Diagnostic Technician at SAS‑Toyota Dealer in Baghdad is responsible for accurately diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical and electronic issues on Toyota vehicles. The role ensures high customer satisfaction, vehicle reliability and upholds the dealership’s reputation for quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Use advanced diagnostic tools, equipment and software to identify faults across engine, transmission, braking, steering and electrical systems.
• Interpret diagnostic codes, technical manuals and repair procedures to determine effective repair solutions.
• Perform in‑depth diagnostics and repairs on multiple vehicle systems, documenting findings for warranty and record‑keeping.
• Stay updated with Toyota technical bulletins, service manuals and training materials to follow manufacturer‑specific procedures.
• Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and training to improve their diagnostic capabilities.
• Collaborate with service advisors to prioritize tasks based on customer needs and dealership objectives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; automotive technology education or certification preferred.
• Manufacturer‑specific training or certification from Toyota or similar programs is highly beneficial.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an automotive technician with a focus on diagnostics.
