Project Coordination Associate – Basra

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) seeks a Project Coordination Associate to support the implementation, monitoring and delivery of its trade‑focused projects in Basra and neighbouring governorates in southern Iraq. Reporting to the National Project Coordinator, you will act as a bridge between ITC project teams, implementing partners and local stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the rollout of project activities across Basra and surrounding governorates.
• Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, private sector, civil society and beneficiaries.
• Organise and facilitate periodic meetings with local authorities to raise awareness and secure support.
• Conduct field visits to monitor progress, identify challenges and provide technical assistance in coordination with partners.
• Report deviations from plans and propose corrective actions to national management.
• Support the design and delivery of surveys, workshops, training sessions and networking events.
• Coordinate communication between project teams, stakeholders and other international organisations.
• Collect, analyse and share data on activities, beneficiaries and outcomes for reporting and M&E purposes.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in project coordination or implementation, preferably in development or trade‑related programmes.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse partners.
• Excellent organizational and reporting abilities.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
