Program Officer

About the role

Amideast is seeking a Program Officer to support the implementation and day‑to‑day coordination of its donor‑funded education and English language programs in Erbil, Iraq. The role works closely with the English Language Program and Training Manager to ensure programs are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate program planning, participant recruitment, logistics, procurement and communications for assigned donor‑funded projects.
• Monitor program progress, maintain accurate records, track budgets and performance indicators, and prepare high‑quality reports.
• Identify implementation challenges, develop practical solutions and flag issues requiring management attention.
• Support business development by assisting in proposal development, market research and preparation of budgets and presentations.
• Travel occasionally to partner institutions and project sites across the Kurdistan Region and Federal Iraq.

Required profile

• Highly organized, proactive and detail‑oriented professional.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong judgment, problem‑solving skills and experience in donor‑funded program coordination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel within Iraq as required.
