Linux System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Linux System Administrator to join our IT team. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Linux servers, ensuring reliable service delivery and supporting our internal users.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Linux servers using the command line, handling file systems, permissions, and system services (systemd).
• Perform package management (apt), disk management, mounts, and monitor processes (top, htop, ps).
• Administer users and groups, configure SSH access, and analyze logs (journalctl, /var/log).
• Troubleshoot performance issues related to CPU, RAM, and disk I/O.
• Configure networking basics, including IP addressing, DNS, routing, and firewalls (iptables, nftables, ufw).
• Implement basic storage solutions, understand RAID concepts, and work with block vs. file storage.
• Apply Linux hardening practices and manage patch updates.
• Support container workloads with Docker and assist with simple Kubernetes deployments.
• Automate routine tasks using Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Monitor system health and set up basic alerts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a System Administrator.
• Fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.
• Enjoys learning new technologies, stays calm under pressure, and documents work thoroughly.

Required skills

• Linux command line, systemd, apt, top/htop/ps.
• User and group management, SSH, journalctl.
• IP addressing, DNS, routing, iptables/nftables/ufw.
• RAID basics, block and file storage concepts.
• Docker containers, basic Kubernetes concepts.
• Bash scripting, Python, Ansible.
