Lead Planner / Cost Subject Matter Expert (SME)

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Lead Planner/Cost Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support its Singapore Business Unit while working onsite in Basra, Iraq on a 28‑day on/28‑day off rotation. The role focuses on budget compliance, cost control and coordination across multiple project sections.

Key responsibilities

• Track the ST department’s annual budget execution, identify deviations and propose mitigation measures.
• Prepare the department’s annual budget aligned with project objectives and actual needs.
• Monitor purchase order execution and budget implementation, summarise data and produce monthly reports.
• Review key project costs, validate investment data and ensure alignment with financial targets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support cost‑effective project delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning and cost management within oil & gas or related engineering projects.
• Strong analytical abilities to track budgets and identify variances.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with multiple internal sections.
• Willingness to work onsite in Basra under a 28/28 rotation schedule.
