HVAC Technician for Naval Vessels

About the role

Amentum is looking for an experienced HVAC Technician to support naval vessels and life‑support facilities at the Iraqi Naval Base in Umm Qsar. The role involves installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing HVAC systems on offshore support vessels, patrol boats, and rigid‑hull inflatable boats.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment including air‑conditioning units, heating systems, heat pumps, compressors, and refrigeration components.
• Inspect and test HVAC systems and perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure longevity.
• Diagnose and correct malfunctions, perform emergency repairs, and replace motors, pumps, condensers, and controls as needed.
• Coordinate logistics, procurement, and inventory management with management and logistics staff to secure parts and materials.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, prepare reports, and comply with service standards, work instructions, and Contract Deliverable Requirement List (CRDL) requirements.
• Participate in project support meetings and respond to customer queries with technical feedback.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years progressive experience servicing ship or submarine systems, including at least 4 years on HVAC equipment aboard vessels.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in English, US citizenship, and ability to obtain a country clearance, base pass, and an active passport valid for at least two years after arrival.
• Willingness to travel within CONUS and OCONUS.
