Director, People & Culture

About the role

Rixos Baghdad is looking for an experienced, people‑focused Director, People & Culture to lead the hotel’s human resources strategy. You will shape a supportive, dynamic work environment that aligns with the brand’s luxury standards and drives employee engagement, development and inclusivity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement People & Culture strategies that support organisational goals and values.
• Oversee talent acquisition, recruitment and onboarding to attract and retain top talent.
• Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, resolving conflicts and fostering a positive workplace.
• Lead learning and development programmes, succession planning and leadership development.
• Manage performance appraisal systems, goal setting and feedback processes.
• Design and maintain competitive compensation and benefits programmes.
• Ensure compliance with Iraqi labour laws, company policies and best practices.
• Oversee HRIS data management, analyse metrics and report to executive leadership.
• Champion diversity, equity, inclusion and employee engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate on health and safety policies to maintain safe working conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in leading HR functions within a hospitality or similar service environment.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives.
