About the role
Rixos Baghdad is looking for an experienced, people‑focused Director, People & Culture to lead the hotel’s human resources strategy. You will shape a supportive, dynamic work environment that aligns with the brand’s luxury standards and drives employee engagement, development and inclusivity.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement People & Culture strategies that support organisational goals and values.
- Oversee talent acquisition, recruitment and onboarding to attract and retain top talent.
- Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, resolving conflicts and fostering a positive workplace.
- Lead learning and development programmes, succession planning and leadership development.
- Manage performance appraisal systems, goal setting and feedback processes.
- Design and maintain competitive compensation and benefits programmes.
- Ensure compliance with Iraqi labour laws, company policies and best practices.
- Oversee HRIS data management, analyse metrics and report to executive leadership.
- Champion diversity, equity, inclusion and employee engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate on health and safety policies to maintain safe working conditions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in leading HR functions within a hospitality or similar service environment.
- Strong knowledge of Iraqi labour legislation and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives.
