Dental Nurse

About the role

The Dental Nurse will work within AUIB’s modern clinic, supporting dentists throughout procedures, ensuring strict infection control, and guiding patients from arrival to discharge. This full‑time, patient‑focused position offers the chance to contribute to high‑quality, safe dental care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide chair‑side assistance by passing instruments, managing suction, mixing materials and anticipating clinical needs.
• Operate autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, disinfect operatories, and maintain sterilisation logs in compliance with safety standards.
• Greet and prepare patients, review medical histories, explain procedures, and deliver post‑operative instructions and follow‑up scheduling.
• Capture digital X‑rays (periapical, panoramic) following radiation safety guidelines.
• Assist in medical emergencies by retrieving equipment, monitoring vitals and calling for additional help.
• Monitor inventory of consumables, check expiry dates, rotate stock and prepare weekly supply orders.

Required profile

• Qualified Bachelor of Nursing with solid knowledge of dental instruments, materials and common procedures.
• Meticulous attention to sterilisation protocols, expiry dates and patient documentation.
• Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure and during emergencies.
• Strong empathy and communication skills to reassure patients of all ages.
• Team‑player who collaborates effectively with dentists, hygienists, reception staff and biomedical engineers.
