Control Room Operator

About the role

The Control Room Operator will oversee real‑time plant operations in an oil & gas environment, ensuring safe and efficient process control from the control room. This role requires close coordination with field technicians and rapid response to alarms and emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor plant process parameters via DCS/control room systems.
• Carry out operational adjustments according to approved procedures and log data and abnormalities.
• Liaise with field technicians for execution of tasks and respond to process alarms and emergencies.
• Support plant commissioning, start‑up and routine shutdown activities.
• Comply fully with site safety, ISSOW and PTW requirements.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of relevant oil & gas control room or process operations experience.
• Internationally recognised qualifications (NVQ, C&G, OPITO, etc.).
• Valid emergency response competency and an international driving licence.
• Experience with commissioning and challenging operating environments.
• Good English; Arabic speaking is a plus.

Required skills

• DCS (Distributed Control System) operation.
• CMMS and SAP usage.
• Familiarity with ISSOW and PTW systems.
• Emergency response competency.
