Civil Engineer – Site Position in Erbil

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its on‑site team in Erbil. You will provide technical oversight for civil, structural, architectural and finishing works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise civil and related works, verifying adherence to IFC drawings and standards.
• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor quality, progress and safety.
• Review contractor submissions such as shop drawings, calculations, method statements and ITPs.
• Coordinate civil and architectural activities with structural, MEP and other disciplines.
• Track contractor performance against schedule, quality and safety targets.
• Validate progress reports, work quantities and payment applications before certification.
• Implement QA/QC procedures and issue NCRs for non‑conformities.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants and contractors to resolve issues.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare regular technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering experience on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of national and international civil/structural codes and standards.
• Proven experience in design review, value engineering and constructability analysis.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
