Civil Engineer

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to lead civil design activities for large‑scale infrastructure projects in Erbil. You will ensure that all designs meet national and international standards while supporting the company’s commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide all civil design activities for assigned projects.
• Verify design consistency with national and international codes, as well as operator specifications.
• Conduct value engineering assessments to optimise cost and performance.
• Perform constructability reviews to ensure designs are field‑ready.
• Develop detailed designs, technical specifications, cost estimates and schedules.
• Collect and validate initial data required for detailed design development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in civil/structural engineering.
• In‑depth knowledge of civil/structural design codes and standards (national and international).
• Proven experience in design review, value engineering and constructability analysis.
• Familiarity with procurement and tender processes for large‑scale projects.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
