Architect – Basra, Iraq

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Architect to join its Iraq Business Unit in Basra. This full‑time, onsite position involves travel and supports the delivery of complex upstream and mid‑stream oil and gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare architectural concepts, schematics and detailed designs.
• Develop space planning, layouts and architectural details.
• Coordinate architectural designs with civil, structural and MEP disciplines.
• Produce architectural drawings, schedules and bills of quantities (BOQs).
• Perform QA/QC reviews of architectural deliverables.
• Support the preparation of coordinated Issued For Construction (IFC) documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an architect in the construction or oil & gas sector.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
• Willingness to travel as required.
