About the role

The Arab Center of Engineering Studies (ACES) is seeking a motivated Accountant to join its finance team in Iraq. The role involves handling a wide range of accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting both internal and external reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and records for suppliers, employees and inter‑company transactions.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for inter‑company accounts, personal advances, inventory AP, supplier advances, accruals and other key accounts.
• Process receipt vouchers and allocate client payments in the Oracle system.
• Verify purchase orders, invoices and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance with tax authority and company policies.
• Create and update supplier and client profiles in Oracle and LIMS.
• Post accounting vouchers, including purchases and bank payments via credit card.
• Handle HR‑related financial matters such as salary deductions, personal advances and monthly deduction follow‑up.
• Prepare tax credit notes, apply them to invoices and ensure VAT and corporate tax compliance.
• Assist with government certifications such as ICV and other regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 0‑2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

Required skills

• Oracle financial system.
• LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
• OMS (Order Management System).
