Wells Operation Manager

About the role

The Wells Operation Manager acts as the technical Subject Matter Expert for well engineering at country level, ensuring that engineering processes meet quality, integrity and health‑safety standards. The role requires autonomous decision‑making, extensive travel to Iraq and leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Approve well designs and programs, ensuring compliance with contracts, HMS policies and risk mitigation plans.
• Lead technical presentations to clients and mentor engineers on design, drilling, completions and abandonment activities.
• Coordinate engineering procedures across projects, rigs and platforms, including rig maintenance, modifications and recertification.
• Drive continuous improvement by managing performance targets, lessons‑learned systems and new technology deployment.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a STEM field, preferably Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience as a Well Engineer with drilling, completions and intervention expertise; 15 years preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership of engineering teams and a valid Well Control certificate.
