About the role
The Mechanical Engineer (Static) will act as a subject‑matter expert responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance of static mechanical equipment in an oil‑and‑gas environment. The role includes supervising technicians, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring all work follows Halliburton’s Management System.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive/predictive maintenance and advanced function testing on static mechanical equipment.
- Supervise, prioritize, and assign work to technicians while mentoring junior personnel.
- Conduct detailed technical evaluations, root‑cause failure analysis, and support design reviews, HAZOPs, and vendor qualifications.
- Review and approve mechanical data sheets, P&ID, equipment arrangements, and ensure compliance with project specifications and best practices.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of mechanical experience; technical school certification preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an oil‑and‑gas operations environment.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret mechanical schematics, drawings, and prints and to locate correct parts for procurement.
Required skills
- Preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Interpretation of mechanical schematics, drawings and P&ID.
- Advanced function testing of equipment.
- Root‑cause failure analysis and technical evaluation.
