UH-60 Aircraft Mechanic II

About the role

The UH-60 Aircraft Mechanic II performs a full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on UH‑60 helicopters stationed in Erbil, Iraq. The role involves working with aircraft structures, landing gear, flight controls, engines, and auxiliary systems to ensure operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Remove, install, service, and lubricate aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, transmissions, and mechanical flight controls.
• Perform scheduled and special inspections, operational checks, and maintenance test flights.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft systems using specialized tools and test equipment.
• Maintain and repair components including flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and power plant systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; FAA A&P license or three+ years recent UH‑60 maintenance experience.
• Valid U.S. passport (2‑year validity), ability to obtain Iraq visa and Public Trust NAC‑I clearance.
• Ability to meet CENTCOM MOD physical requirements and pass respirator fit test.

Required skills

• Aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair.
• Use of aircraft‑specific tools: torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet‑metal brakes and shears.
• Working knowledge of technical publications, maintenance manuals, and Logistics Information Systems.
• Basic electrical theory and sheet‑metal structural modification knowledge.
