Transportation Coordinator (Southwest Asia)

About the role

The Transportation Coordinator provides comprehensive movement control and multimodal transportation support across air, land, and sea in Southwest Asia. This position blends tactical convoy management with theater‑level logistics integration to ensure the safe, timely, and accountable delivery of personnel, equipment, and materiel.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor all transportation movements, scheduled distributions, and convoy activities.
• Conduct convoy briefings, staging‑area management, and safety briefings.
• Enter, validate, and close movement data in TC‑AIMS II, MTS, BCS3, and related systems.
• Track convoys, retrieve reports from Movement Control Teams, and maintain historical movement records.
• Create circulation overlays, support route planning, and analyze freight cost performance.
• Ensure HAZMAT documentation, certification, and regulatory compliance.
• Utilize LIS systems such as GCSS‑Army, LOADOUT, IGC, and JCM for transportation requests and intermodal operations.
• Lead cargo truck convoys, oversee blocking, bracing, packing, crating, and tie‑down operations.
• Maintain compliance with DTR 4500.9‑R, ISO, and host‑nation requirements.
• Participate in movement boards and multinational coordination meetings, providing in‑transit visibility via RFID and DoD systems.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of related logistics or transportation experience (military experience acceptable in lieu of education).
• Active U.S. Secret clearance and valid U.S. passport.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Proven experience in convoy operations, movement control, and transportation documentation.
