TAR Supervisor – Instrumentation & Electrical (Basra)

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Electrical (E&I) Turnaround (TAR) Supervisor to join its Iraq Business Unit in Basra. The role is full‑time, on‑site and focuses on supporting maintenance, turnarounds and engineering activities for oil, gas and water systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the TAR Lead and Coordinator in delivering the TAR programme safely and efficiently.
• Promote a strong Health, Safety & Environment culture, lead toolbox talks and ensure compliance with HSE, fire safety and industrial safety regulations.
• Provide technical guidance for field execution of TAR I&E scopes, including equipment selection and installation.
• Interpret and verify P&IDs, electrical single‑line diagrams, cable layout, trench routing and control‑room layouts.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation, electrical, control and safety systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Instrumentation & Electrical supervisor in oil & gas turnarounds.
• Familiarity with HSE regulations and hazardous‑location work practices.
• Strong understanding of turnarounds, maintenance procedures and field execution of I&E scopes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
