Specialised Team for EU Advisory Mission – Security Structure Reform (Iraq)

About the role

The European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq is seeking contributions to form a specialised team that will support the reform of the country’s security structures. This role is part of the EUAM Iraq 1-2026 programme and focuses on delivering expert advice and practical assistance to Iraqi authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational advice on security sector reform.
• Assist in the design and implementation of reform initiatives.
• Coordinate with Iraqi security institutions and international partners.
• Prepare analytical reports and recommendations for policymakers.
• Contribute to capacity‑building activities and training programmes.

Required profile

• EU Member State nationality.
• Relevant experience in security sector reform, defence, or related fields.
• Ability to work in a multicultural and challenging environment.
• Willingness to be deployed to Iraq as indicated in the annexes.
