Site Material Management and Preservation Superintendent

About the role

The Site Material Management and Preservation Superintendent will ensure full HSE compliance and protect assets across material management and preservation activities at a major gas development project in southern Iraq. The role provides day‑to‑day oversight of the EPC contractor, coordinates with procurement and construction teams, and safeguards material integrity from delivery through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure HSE compliance and enforce project specifications, OEM recommendations and international standards for material handling, storage and preservation.
• Oversee the EPC contractor’s Material Management Plan, verify material identification, tracking, storage and preservation from delivery to installation.
• Review, approve and monitor the Preservation Plan for static and rotating equipment, piping, electrical and instrumentation items.
• Inspect sites and warehouses, identify non‑conformities, and follow up corrective actions.
• Coordinate material handover between warehouse, construction and commissioning, and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
• Identify risks of corrosion, contamination or mechanical damage and recommend mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in material management and preservation on large EPC projects (oil & gas, petrochemical or power).
• Strong knowledge of OEM preservation requirements, storage best practices and international corrosion control standards.
• Proven field presence and inspection capability.
