About the role
Wood is seeking an experienced Shutdown PVV Lead to join its Iraq Business Unit in Basra. The role focuses on supporting the Project Shutdown Organization to safely prepare, plan, organise and execute shutdown activities for a fast‑track oil & gas development project.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, plan and organise shutdown activities in line with safety standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Track shutdown preparation status and report progress.
- Support the development of detailed designs, FEED studies and procurement packages related to shutdown work.
- Assist in commissioning and hand‑over activities after shutdown completion.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Shutdown Lead in oil & gas or related industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of shutdown planning, safety procedures and project execution.
- Ability to work on‑site in Basra with occasional travel requirements.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
