Shift Team Leader

About the role

Al-Awsat Company is looking for a dynamic Shift Team Leader to oversee shop‑floor operations at its Al‑Awsat Chips & Food Factory in Abu Ghraib, Baghdad. The role is full‑time on a shift basis and focuses on meeting daily production targets while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and organise shift operators and factory labour to achieve production goals.
• Monitor automated manufacturing and packaging lines, ensuring mechanical reliability and smooth performance.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues during operations and coordinate with the maintenance team to minimise downtime.
• Enforce strict adherence to food safety, hygiene and workplace safety policies on the line.
• Track shift KPIs such as output volume, material wastage and labour attendance, and prepare clear hand‑over reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• 2–4 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a factory environment, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, conveyors, drives and machinery layout.
• Effective leadership, conflict‑resolution and shift‑management capabilities.
• Residence in Baghdad, preferably near Abu Ghraib or the Karkh side.
